WestKam Gold Corp. is pleased to announce that the successful results of the 2013 and 2014 geophysical surveys, supported by historical geochemical and geological results, have generated several priority drill targets for the upcoming 2015 Exploration Program on the Bonaparte Project.
The Discovery Gold Zone exhibited a high resistivity and chargeability response from the 2013/14 Volterra 3D Induced Polarization surveys, which has been traced from line to line over a distance of 1,200 meters to the south-southeast of the Discovery Gold Zone. Other similar geophysical responses are noted to the east of, and parallel to, the Discovery Gold Zone trend which are also supported by anomalous historical gold geochemical results.
To the south-southwest of the Discovery Gold Zone, a complex magnetic anomaly with zones of high chargeability is located under a flat lying basalt cap. The complex magnetic signature may indicate the presence of a multiphase intrusive body favorable for the development of a porphyry-like body which is a target of interest.
WestKam and its technical advisors have determined that it has generated several priority targets which warrant a drill program in 2015. Financing dependent, a 1,000 to 3,000 meter drill program is planned and all required permits are in place. WestKam has developed a strong working relationship with the Stk'emlupsemc te Secwepemc Nation (known as the "SSN") in whose traditional territory Bonaparte project is located. WestKam intends to contract with SSN companies to carry out activities related to the 2015 program. Since 2012, SSN has provided WestKam with water monitoring and sampling services to ensure surface water discharge at the Project site complies with Provincial water quality standards. Recent clear cut logging and road building operations to the southeast of the Discovery Gold Zone provides excellent access along the surface trace of the Discovery Gold Zone trend, well beyond the limits of the Volterra 3D Induced Polarization survey.
