VMS Ventures has provided the details of its Copper project near Snow Lake in Manitoba.
The company has cut the hole CP-11-013 and returned 2.13 g/t gold over 1.61 m at the CE-86, Versatile Time-Domain Electromagnetic (VTEM) target. Gold mineralization occurred in an altered shear zone along with the scattered quartz and sulphide veins. The location of this target is 2.5 km northeast direction of the Kof zone, hosting 257,000 t of historical resource grading 2.30% copper.
The CEO of the company has stated that the gold mineralization at the project is the second major discovery at this copper project during the 2011 drilling program. The geology from all the drilling programs show supportive volcanic stratigraphy and therefore the company will extend the collection and estimation of the targets located at the Copper project.
The company has completed 12 diamond drill holes, totaling 4,665 m, at the Copper project from the commencement of the 2011 winter drilling campaign and defines two regions for further follow-up work. This new discovery and an anomalous zinc zone, which was reported in April 2011, show that this copper project is located in a predisposed arc -type of volcanic stratigraphy.
This Copper project is one of the main unbroken 100% owned land area, which covers around 200 sq. km area, and the northern border of the project is sited 30 km to the southern part of the Snow Lake town. The company is performing further targeting and collection work.
