Quaterra Resources Reports Trenching and Drilling Results from Herbert Glacier Project

Quaterra Resources has reported further trenching and drilling results from the exploration campaign conducted during 2011 by Grande Portage Resources, its operator and partner at the Herbert Glacier gold project in Alaska.

The company intersected a brecciated quartz vein, which returned 11.53 g/t gold over 3.52 m, at the drill hole 11F-3 from the F platform, located at the Deep Trench vein. It obtained large values of gold from all the holes drilled at the Deep Trench vein from the G platform. Quaterra has cut 4.18 g/t gold over 4.6 m in the hole 11G-2, 9.26 g/t gold over 1.36 m in the hole 11G-4. Grande Portage has obtained good assay results from the hole 11I-7 drilled at the Main vein. The trench samples that were collected from the E platform of the Deep Trench vein also returned strong values.

Quaterra is waiting for the further results from the Deep Trench vein, which includes the results from the initial two holes of the F platform and hole 11G-8, and is anticipating the results at the earliest. Grande Portage will release the additional assay results when it is available.

The 2011 field work was completed by Consultant Charles Hawley and Geologists Carl Hale and has discovered several deep targets for the 2012 drilling season along with a sequence of near surface closely spaced holes, which will be drilled using a small rig. The company will plan the 2012 drill campaign and submit for permitting in this quarter.

Grande Portage and Quaterra established a 65% and 35% of joint venture in the property for its additional development and drilling.
