Kent Exploration NZ, a subsidiary of Kent Exploration, begins the proposed diamond drilling at Alexander River Gold Project, that is approximately 25 km southeast of Reefton, West Coast, South Island, New Zealand.
Under the supervision of Dr. Clay Conway, around 3,000 meters, 10 additional holes HQ and NQ core diamond drill program is planned to identify the geology and structures to support in determining the gold potential of the property.
When Kent performed the 2010 surface sampling program along a strike length of approximately 1,200 meters, it intersected 24.6 g/t gold over 3.2 m including 40.38 g/t gold over 1.9m at trench “F”. At trench "A", it cut 6.87 g/t gold over 6.4m including 12.91 g/t gold over 3.2m. At trench "K", it intercepted 10.56 g/t gold over 8m including 20.2 g/t gold over 2.9m and at trench "M", 4.5 g/t gold over 12.8m including 9.13 g/t gold over 4.1m were intersected. Mineralization remains open along the strike and to depth.
The 2,669-hectare Alexander River gold prospect covers the historic Alexander gold mine, which produced 41,091 ounces of gold from 47,726 tons of quartz.
