ECU Silver Mining has announced the high-performance deep hole diamond drill position that turned up at the Velardeña Property on March 23, 2011.
Now, the drill is reaming drill hole SJ-08-21 that primarily cuts two massive sulphide veins, M-S veins. The company has completed reaming a larger diameter hole, the parent hole, which is around SJ-08-21, the original drill hole.
An NQ drill bit having hole diameter of 76mm is used in the high performance drill to make the parent hole and so far, it has drilled about 200 meters in depth. The company has planned to ream till 800 meters using high-performance drill and the core drilling will be commenced from 800 meter depth.
The aim of the first hole is to deep drill the original hole, SJ-08-21, away from the initially intersected two mammoth sulphide veins. The original drill rig, which was used in identifying these two intercepts was not able to drill lower depths and discontinued at the second cut.
Next to the completion of the first drill hole, the company will drill four daughter holes off the main parent borehole. These daughter holes will screen multiple targets to analyze the presence of continuous mineralized zones.
