Golden Reign Resources has released the 11 diamond drill hole results that were obtained from the current 2011 exploration at the Nicaragua-based San Albino-Murra Project. It has completed 27 diamond drill holes, totaling 7,289 m, and is likely to continue the drilling during 2011.
The plan of 2011 drilling was to develop upon the 2010 drilling campaign, additional outlining the level of down dip and strike of the mineralized formations that contains the San Arras and Albino zones.
The company has intersected 46.70 g/t gold and 36.57 g/t silver over 1.5 m, 14.34 g/t gold and 21.66 g/t silver over 2.5 m, 22.92 g/t gold and 32.43 g/t silver over 7.0 m and 16.37 g/t gold and 23.45 g/t silver over 12 m in the hole SA11-18. It has also cut 23.67 g/t gold and 31.73 g/t silver over 1.5 m, 12.28 g/t gold and 27.87 g/t silver over 7.0 m in the hole SA11-20.
SA11-18 and SA11-20 drill holes show the Arras mineralization’s continuity at the down dip. The location of the Arras prospect is at some 400 m distance to the eastern side. These results and the past drill hole SA10-06 results are similar and the hole SA10-06 is situated along the strike of approximately 250 m to the north that cut 13.67 g/t gold and 31.41 g/t silver over 4 m at the Arras zone. The Arras mineralized zone’s thickness and strike continuity are important for the company. High-grade gold deposits with this nature are exposed to structural deformation, swelling and pinching to decrease the deposit’s possible size.
The program shows around 600 m of down dip expansion with a depth of about 200 m vertically. In addition, it has shown the mineralization continuity along the 300 m of strike length. Golden Reign is in the process of forming a strike with a length of 600 m. The mineralized zones stay open along the strike.
The company has planned the drill program to examine the complete region between the Arras and San Albino prospects. The 2011 drilling has primarily included 6,000 to 10,000 m of definition drilling, totaling 40 to 60 holes. The company has re-planned the drilling campaign after receiving more positive drill holes.
