Gonzaga Resources has begun a phase I exploration campaign at its Kennedy River property, which is situated near Port Alberni in British Columbia.
This property approximately encloses half of the significant Kennedy River gold district and it has the prospective of hosting prominent sheeted vein-type gold mineralized zones. Kerr Addison Mines’ former exploration during late 1980 and the company’s three- dimensional induced polarization (IP) surveys and soil geochemical surveys during 2010 have discovered many mineralized regions, which needs follow-up exploration.
The G-1 target, which is the main target region, has included a chargeability and gold in soil anomaly that was found during 2010. The IP and soil geochemical anomalies, which are open towards the southwest direction, have thickness for more than 200 m. Also, a second chargeability anomaly exists on the target. Further target regions comprised the gold zone’s west portion, which is situated in the claim’s eastern area, the Westering two sheeted vein zone that is present around 1 km to the target’s northern part, and the potential northeast mineralized expansion zones called Tommy K zone that were discovered by Teck Exploration during late 1980.
The company has scheduled the exploration work including further soil geochemical surveys and comprehensive geological mapping that are planned to outline potential strike expansions of the G-1 Target and additional evaluation of the added target regions that were discovered during 2010. The exploration results are pending.
