Orocan Resource has started the exploration program at Lyndoch and Little-Bryan Graphite and Black Donald properties.
Currently, Prospectair Geosurveys performed an aerial TDEM survey over the three properties in Ontario. This survey results will support in the assessment of the level of the prominent occurrences and also assist in the fresh mineralization discovery.
The location of the three properties is around 100 km towards WSW of Ottawa. The company acquired these three properties for the potential existence of graphite in the fall of 2011. The Black Donald mine, which has previously encountered more amount of high-purity and high-grade graphite, has been enclosed by the Black Donald property. Formerly, graphite was drill tested during 1982 and has been found at numerous sites on the present claim block. Significant existence of graphite is identified at the center of Lyndoch and Little-Bryan. The company is conducting limited exploration, including near-surface diamond drilling and trenching programs, on these two properties.
The company is conducting an aerial survey, including flying over 1492 line-km at lower elevation, in order to determine the magnetic and bedrock conductivity (TDEM) properties. Graphite is highly conductive with unique physical properties. Orocan has planned the survey to optimize the potential conductor reactions and to differentiate between the forms of the conductors. It conducted an initial test on the ground with a convenient EM instrument and located the significant horizons of graphite on the Little-Bryan property. The aerial survey employs the powerful TDEM instrument. It is expected to receive the airborne survey results in January and these results will become significant for future prospecting, drilling and trenching campaign of 2012.
