Artha Resources has provided an update on its latest exploration field activity conducted in late 2011 on the Organullo gold-silver project located in Salta Province, Northwest Argentina.
Structural interpretation and sampling results have underlined three target zones in the 8x8 km modified and mineralised system, which was earlier discovered by prior exploration.
In November/December 2011, the company had conducted a preliminary exploration level sampling and mapping campaign to understand the property layout and to familiarize with the historical results. The work was targeted at the 3.5 km zone across the main portion of the property close to the Julio Verne mine and provided an in-depth structural interpretation of the property.
The company has discovered three target zones based on prior work and latest sampling and mapping program. Map 2 represented these three target zones in the perspective of gold anomalism from past and recent surface sampling. Zones 2 and 3 are believed to be important areas. The Zone 2 is situated in the property’s main portion. It hosts significant gold anomaly measuring 750x600 m in size and comprises the Carolina, Virginia and Martha veins (Au-Pb-Zn-As), Belen and Claudia veins (Au-Pb-±Sb-±Mo), and the Julio Verne Mine (Cu-Bi-Au±Pb±Ag±As±Sb). Historic drilling of this zone revealed very less recoveries, around 20% to 30%, and is believed to be of high priority.
The Zone 3 is situated at the property’s northern portion. It is a massive tonnage system target and includes silver-gold anomalism in low grade across a wide region.
The company will conduct a follow-up campaign, beginning in April 2012. This will comprise a preliminary surface trenching program to analyze wider zones of mineralization, both between and adjoining to the sheeted vein system in the main portion of the property. The campaign will also analyze the low grade bulk tonnage prospect towards the north of the Julio Verne mine.
