Canadian International Minerals Expands Cole Lake Property

Canadian International Minerals (CIN) has reported that its Cole Lake property has been extended with the acquisition of two claims that enclose 346.78 ha, totaling 16 claims, with 6967.22 ha areal level in the property region of West Central British Columbia.

Bowser Lake and Hazelton sediments, volcanic rocks and Bulkley intrusive suite units are covered by the claims. Volcanic rocks host significant precious and base metal mineralization in British Columbia. Many B.C. MINFILE mineralized base and precious metal occurrences are included in the property. Cominco had discovered carbontization and silicification together with related chalcopyrite, pyrite and pyrrhotite on the property.

Additional works have not been conducted in the area till 1980, when geological mapping, soil and rock sampling were carried out by Welcome North Mines.

The Cole property’s northern border is about 15 km towards the southern part of the Huckleberry mine, which has been producing since 1997. The mine had returned 870 Mlbs copper, 105,000 oz gold, 3.4 Moz silver and is retrieving molybdenum in concentrates. Recently, the life of Huckleberry mine has been extended to 2021.

Seel deposit of Gold Reach Resources (GRV) includes 11 km towards the northern part of the Cole property and the southern part of the Huckleberry mine. GRV has intercepted 0.51% copper equivalent over 556.7 m and 0.38% copper equivalent over 571.9 m at Seel deposit. The current diamond drill campaign has been extended to 25,000 m.

The Cole claims are located in a traditionally explored region for porphyry copper-type target areas. Callinex Mines’ (CNX) recent exploration has discovered high-grade, significant gold, lead, silver and zinc mineralization present on a property. It has encountered 0.19 g/t gold, 175.00 g/t silver, 1.52 % lead and 2.11 % zinc over 11.70 m. Drilling carried out by CNX was about 7 km from the border of the CIN's property. An extended drilling by CNX has been scheduled in order to follow up the work done in 2011. A property-scale aerial geophysical program is being planned for the exploration season of 2012.
