Benton Resources Buys Abernethy Gold Project

Benton Resources has purchased 100% interest in the Abernethy gold project. This project is situated 10km southwest of Kenora, Ontario.

In 1974, Hudson Bay Exploration and Development had defined that the property comprises 9 claims having 67 units in total and includes 640 metre long and 210 metre broad electromagnetic conductor previously described. Hudson Bay has analyzed the anomaly with a single drill hole and has cut 17.8 g/t gold over 1.52 metres.

Later, Mingold Resources acquired the project in 1987 and the same zone was examined with two drill holes having spacing of 61 metres. The company has intersected 6.30 g/t gold over 6.1 metres in hole ABE-1 and 1.62 g/t gold over 6.7 metres in hole ABE-3 including 10.0 g/t gold over 0.61 metres. The historical review indicates the presence of only three drill holes in the electromagnetic conductor. The zone is open in both the directions along the strike and at depth. Once the circumstances are favourable , Benton has planned to begin work at the project.
