Beaufield Resources has completed the present drilling phase at its Tortigny zinc-copper-silver deposit, which is situated 100 km north of Chibougamau in Quebec.
The company drilled the well-known, shallow part of the Tortigny deposit through the present drilling program in 2010 November and completed it in June 2011. This current drilling program included 9746 m, totaling 39 holes, out of which 12 have released their assay results. Beaufield has received the assays and the assays are gathered and interpreted on 19 holes. The interpreted results will be announced during the completion of the analysis. The company is waiting for the assay results of the remaining eight holes.
Beaufield has commenced drilling on a systematic pattern by means of vertical holes planned to drill at a "V" shaped deposit. Besides the 39 holes, 1647 m totaling seven holes were specified by the company and it has contracted to carry out a 43-101 compliant resource calculation. The company drills these holes at an angle from the north to south. The assays for these seven additional holes are also pending.
The company has completed the core sampling for gravity determinations and metallurgical testing and will form the main element of the resource calculation. Beaufield considers that the resource calculation will offer data, which will support the company to evaluate the economic prospective of the Tortigny deposit.
The ground and airborne surveys have discovered technically applicable drill targets at the 31,290 ha property. Volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits exist in clusters at the VMS mining districts like Noranda and Matagami mining camps and so, this area is considered highly prospective for additional discoveries.
