Argentex Mining has received further drilling results from the newly completed 2011 exploration at the Pinguino project, which is situated in Argentina’s Santa Cruz province.
This drilling program included 19,704 m, totaling 206 holes. The company has announced the drilling results of 7,995 m, totaling 94 holes out of 206 and around 54% of the remaining holes are to be processed.
The President of Argentex has stated that the assay results from Ivonne continue to deliver huge intervals of several grams gold grades and shorter intervals of high-grade deeper and near-surface gold intersections. These latest discoveries at 2,300 m Ivonne Vein have unlocked significant opportunity for gold at the Pinguino project.
The Ivonne vein is running approximately analogous to the Marta Centro-Marta Sur layers group. This vein pattern has high temperature and is rich in gold, which is identified to occur in the district scale vein group that is centered at Pinguino. This drilling has been performed along the length at broadly spaced intervals and broken into three sections from north to south namely Ivonne, Ivonne Norte and Ivonne Sur. Drilling at the 1000 m Ivonne Norte section has outlined high-grade gold mineralization from surface to around 50 m in depth and over a strike length of above 600 m. The company has got analytical results from Ivonne’s two deep intercepts, which intersected 2.50 g/t gold over 7.5 m in the hole P385-11 and 2.01 g/t gold over 5.81 m in the hole P374-11 at Ivonne Sur.
