Auryx Gold has reported the assay results of 37 infill diamond drill (DD) and exploration drilling holes from the present modeled pit’s west and southwest area, located at the Otjikoto gold project, Namibia. These holes along with the former drilled holes outline the West 1 shoot, West A shoot, West B shoot and south expansions towards the west shoots.
The remaining shoots are situated in-pit, apart from the western shoots’ south expansion. The infill holes are TC holes and exploration holes are OT holes drilled to change the NI 43-101 resource calculation from the inferred categories to indicate categories in certain areas.
The CEO of Auryx has commented that the drill program in-pit drilling is validating the inferred mineralization continuity and has indicated that regions, which were formerly modeled as waste, are mineralized. The possibility of including the in-pit resources has shown that the Otjikoto gold deposit is partially explored. The western shoots’ south expansions are situated under the main magnetite zone (MMZ) and have displayed the prospective for the development of the resource along the strike at Otjikoto.
The company is drilling at the Otjikoto deposit using one reverse circulation (RC) and five DD rigs. It has drilled 8,640 m, totaling 90 RC holes, and 46,700 m, totaling 192 DD holes. The results of 64 RC and 55 DD holes have been reported.
