Keegan Resources has reported the assay results of the drilling program conducted at the Esaase project, southwest Ghana.
The focus of this campaign is on step out drilling at the B zone that earlier had an inferred resource depending on the drill holes spaced extensively and the E Zone that has not been incorporated in any resource calculation. The company has encountered large values of gold from both the zones.
The company has intersected 3.9 g/t gold over 41 m in the hole KRDD127, 3.19 g/t gold over 47 m in the hole KGR056, 2.47 g/t gold over 26 m in the hole KEDD105 and 1.62 g/t gold over 41.3 m in the hole KEDD049, located in the E zone. It has cut 1.85 g/t gold over 34 m in the hole KERC184, 1.54 g/t gold over 36 m in the hole KERC186, 0.99 g/t gold over 55 m in the hole KERC190, 1.35 g/t gold over 35 m in the hole KEDD256, drilled in the B zone. This 2011 drilling campaign has given constant and stronger intercepts in the B zone.
Keegan’s CEO and President, Maurice Tagami, commented that the company is delighted with these drill results, because it has shown the increase of resource amount at the Esaase project. It has intentions to perform further aggressive exploration and to continue the permitting, improvement, and social license campaigns during the advancement of the project towards definitive feasibility.
