Mines Management has declared that the company has started a drilling program at the La Estrella project, containing gold and silver, which is situated in central Peru.
The primary campaign includes the objectives to validate the mineralization continuity on the deposit’s southwest side, to outline the high-grade mineralization level at depth and to examine a geophysical target, discovered recently. The company has planned to carry out surface exploration and soil geochemistry program on selected regions that are located near the main mineralization area.
The La Estrella property includes land of around 2,500 ha in the Central Peru polymetallic belt, located in the Department of Huancavelica. Electricity and well-developed roads are included in the project region, which is situated 30 km from the Julcani Silver Mine. Previously, the company carried out core drilling for 5,796 m and reverse circulation (RC) in 33 holes at the La Estrella property.
The drill program targeted a volcanic-hosted mineralized region, whose length is around 1,800 m and thickness is 300 m. The company’s drilling indicated mineralization that continues to 200 m beneath the surface and stays exposed at depth on the deposit’s southwest side. Mineralized intervals occur in 18 holes. The company’s advanced exploration project has an epithermal and volcanic-hosted gold-silver system together with base-metal mineralization.
