Universal Gold Mining Corp. (OTCBB: UGDM) announces additional metallurgical results on samples from the Toldafria property near the city of Manizales in the Department of Caldas, Colombia.
Recent test work involving subjecting the Falcon SB-40 tailings to froth flotation in addition to gravity has shown an increase in overall gold recovery. This work has now been completed and has shown that overall gold recovery can be increased from 86.8% using gravity alone, to 92.8% using a combination of gravity and froth flotation. This confirms the opportunity to achieve high gold recoveries using two low cost approaches without the use of cyanide.
Mr. Andrew Neale, P. Eng., a metallurgical engineer with over 20 years experience and a member of Universal Gold's Board of Directors, commented "As previously announced in our press release of September 17, 2010 (Link), even though we believed the initial 86.8% recovery rate to be 'truly outstanding' we also thought we could further increase that percentage, and seeing recovery rates at 92.8% using two low cost approaches while avoiding cyanide leaching is exceptional."
