Great Quest Fertilizer Ltd ("the Company") is pleased to report the commencement of second year demonstrations of the company's direct application phosphate project. Work continues with government partner the institut pour economique Developpment ("IER") a division of Mali's ministry of Agriculture.
In addition, Great Quest welcomes new partner the Aga Khan Development Network ("AKDN"). The company's fertilizer is being applied in the field this month.
Great Quest has provided quantities of our proposed products to farmers that are part of the AKF agricultural development program in the Mopti region of Mali. Farmers of millet, corn, sorghum, peanuts and peas will be given an opportunity to use our product alongside other products and measure it's efficacy.
Great Quest has produced 7 tonnes of fertilizer products using facilities in South Africa, for demonstrations in Mali:
- Complex granule GQ 35% phosphate with nitrogen and potash (15:15:15)
- Complex granule special cotton blend GQ 35% with nitrogen, potash, sulfur and boron (14:15:15:6:1)
- Granulated GQ 35% direct application
- Granulated GQ 27% direct application
With IER the product will be used on corn, cotton, peanuts, millet, sorghum and rice. Product will be retained and applied on off season crops in January, lettuce, carrots, onions and tomatoes. These crops use large quantities of fertilizer and offer a good opportunity to balance cash flows through the year for our planned manufacturing facility. In a repeat of our efforts last year demonstrations will be performed in all of the major agricultural climatic regions. New this year we will perform demonstrations in the Northern regions of Timbuktu and Gao.

Commenting, Jed Richardson President and CEO, "The company's business plan focuses on delivering product to a large well capitalized West African fertilizer consumers and distributors. However, through partnerships with development organizations like the Aga Khan Development Network, Great Quest can gain direct access to small farmers to develop the market and create access for our products."
Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN)
The AKDN is world renowned organization with a three pronged view of development, cultural, economic and educational.
