North American Nickel Inc. (the "Company") is pleased to announce the commencement of regional exploration drilling of mineralized norite targets and a focused mapping program at their 100% owned Maniitsoq nickel-copper-cobalt-PGM sulphide project in southwest Greenland.
Drilling continues at the Imiak Hill Conduit Complex (IHCC) with one drill rig and a second drill rig is now testing regional exploration targets. A total of 3,000 m of exploration drilling is planned to test approximately fifteen widely spaced targets located throughout the Maniitsoq property. The targets have been identified from compilation and analysis of the Company's airborne, surface and borehole electromagnetic surveys as well as historical geological data and include the Pingo target area located 25 kilometers northwest of IHCC and the Fossilik target area located 8 kilometers southwest of IHCC. Anomalous nickel sulphide mineralization is known to occur at both Pingo and Fossilik from surface sampling carried out by the Company as well as from historic exploration results. Drill testing of regional targets is a key element in the Company's efforts to identify and prioritize prospective sulphide-bearing noritic intrusions for more detailed exploration.
Concurrent with the drilling, a mapping program is being carried out over the IHCC and Fossilik areas by John Fedorowich of JFSG Consulting (Sudbury). Dr. Fedorowich has over 20 years of experience carrying out structural analysis and mapping on a wide range of international sulphide deposits. Detailed outcrop and structural mapping will be completed to further define the geometry, distribution and geological setting of the known sulphide mineralization and to understand the structural controls. Results of this work will be integrated with the on-going collection and modeling of geological, geophysical and drilling data in the IHCC and Fossilik areas.

About North American Nickel
North American Nickel is a mineral exploration company with 100% owned properties in Maniitsoq, Greenland and Sudbury, Ontario.
The Maniitsoq property in Greenland is a Camp scale project comprising 3,601 square km covering numerous high-grade nickel-copper sulphide occurrences associated with norite and other mafic-ultramafic intrusions of the Greenland Norite Belt (GNB). The >75km-long belt is situated along, and near, the southwest coast of Greenland, which is pack ice free year round.
The Post Creek/Halcyon property in Sudbury is strategically located adjacent to the past producing Podolsky copper-nickel-platinum group metal deposit of KGHM International Ltd. The property lies along the extension of the Whistle Offset dyke structure. Such geological structures host major Ni-Cu-PGM deposits and producing mines within the Sudbury Camp.
