Niobay Metals Inc. Receives Exploration Permit for the James Bay Niobium Project

Niobay Metals Inc., a mining exploration company, has announced that it has received an exploration permit from the Ontario-based Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines (MENDM) to conduct an exploration program at its James Bay Niobium Project. The announcement was made on January 30th, 2019.

NioBay Metals Inc. reported that an application for judicial review has been brought by the Moose Cree First Nation (MCFN) as well as a MCFN member seeking to, amongst other things, set aside the exploration permit issued by MENDM and needing the Crown to consult further and completely with MCFN prior to issuing any other kind of permit.

Application for an exploration permit on the James Bay Niobium Project was submitted by Niobay Metals Inc. in October 2016, and since then, the company has constantly reached out to all relevant stakeholders, including the MCFN Chief and Council, within the region of the James Bay Niobium Project in order to engage in meaningful discussions and data sharing with regards to the project and the proposed drilling program in general. Niobay Metals Inc. will continue to reach out to MCFN and MENDM to look for more opportunities to further engage with the community.
