The Intelligent Mine project by Industrial digital technology provider, Zyfra, won the IoT Solutions Awards 2019, which recognizes the best international projects developed in the field of industrial internet in the last year.
Intelligent Mine is a complex solution for highly efficient, safe, completely unmanned mining technology based on robotics, AI and IoT technologies. The project consists of autonomous heavy trucks, infrastructure including automatic gates, traffic lights and data transmission system, control center with remote operator workplaces and server with FMS for robots to manage and optimize the work. The solution is being implemented at the mine sites of one of the world’s largest mining coal and energy companies SUEK.
“With every passing year, mining operations are carried out in progressively more complex and dangerous geological and climatic conditions. Exploiting deposits in the Far North, where there are deserts and mountainous regions with insufficiently developed social infrastructure, significantly complicates the participation of personnel in mining processes, which require highly qualified specialists. In order to increase production efficiency in accordance with industrial safety standards, there is a need to develop innovative solutions for the mining industry. Unmanned vehicles are the key to this”, - commented Pavel Rastopshin, Managing Director of Zyfra.
Within AI & Cognitive System Forum Alexandr Smolensky, Business Development Director at Zyfra, has presented Zyfra Mining’s AI based innovative solutions VG Fragmentation and VG Bucket Control. Both solutions are an important part of the Mine-to-Mill concept and can be integrated with a dispatch system of any brand that is one of their key competitive features.
VG Fragmentation is a solution that provides continuous measurement of particle size distribution in the excavator bucket. The solution increases excavator productivity by 3%. Correlation of grains with their coordinates allows to draw a map of the explosion efficiency and achieve a balance between the cost of the explosion and the production efficiency.
VG BucketControl is a solution that provides real-time monitoring of excavator bucket teeth, which helps to increase productivity of crushing units due to reduced downtime. The technolgy also let to reduce time for finding a broken tooth. In case of loss or failure of the tooth crown, an audible signal is sent to the driver, as well as to a dispatcher. The systems also evaluates degree of wear of the tooth.
