“It is fantastic to continue developing our relationship with the team at Pan American on the Horizon Lithium Project. Our Grand Junction and Reno teams have the experience and local connections in the area to ensure that the project moves forward in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Pan American has the right to purchase a 100% interest in the Horizon Lithium Project through a property option agreement with FMS Lithium Corporation (FMS) and Horizon Lithium LLC (Horizon Lithium). The Project comprises 839 unpatented lode mining claims covering approximately 17,334 acres of land in Nevada’s Big Smoky and Monte Cristo Basins in Esmeralda County.
The Tonopah Flats project by American Battery Technologies Corp., which is next to the property, was recently awarded $57 million by the US Department of Energy (DOE) to design, construct, commission, and run a first-of-its-kind commercial-scale facility to demonstrate its novel method for creating battery cathode grade lithium hydroxide from unusual Nevada-based sedimentary resources that contain lithium.
