Nine Mile Metals Ltd. has provided an update on its winter drill program at the Nine Mile Brook VMS Project. Winter drilling on the company’s Nine Mile Brook VMS Project began on February 17th, 2023, with a skid-mounted drilling rig operated by Orbit Garant Drilling Inc. in Moncton, NB.
A planned 5,000 m fully financed drill program by Orbit Garant Drilling had eight holes totaling 1,329 m completed. More than 730 m of drill core are being recorded, photographed, cut, and ready for rush assays, which are anticipated to take two to three weeks for each submission.
The ALS Global in Moncton, New Brunswick, is receiving all assays. Nine Mile is adding more staff and equipment to help with this process’s expedition because of the hardness and volume of the core identified for assay. Following completion, evaluation, and analysis, the verified Lab Assay findings will be made public.
In December 2022, Nine Mile generated gross sales of $1,271,000. Cost estimates for the current 5,000-m drill program are $750,000. At this moment, the company is not raising additional funds.
Additionally, the company has secured the return of the track-mounted mobile drilling gear from Lantech Drilling to the Nine Mile Brook program. Depending on the weather, this second drill rig should be mobilized by the end of April.
The company is also working on obtaining permissions for the new Wedge Project targets that the Technical Team and EarthEX Geophysical Solutions previously identified. Additionally, EarthEX is aiding Nine Mile in developing additional sophisticated exploration projects for the Canoe Landing Lake VMS Project and California Lake.
We are quite pleased with the execution of our drill program to date, and the amount of mineralized core identified for certified assays by ALS Global in Moncton. We look forward to adding the 2nd rig at Nine Mile Brook and continuing with our Flagship exploration program. This will allow us to focus on certain areas and continue the bigger program at the same time. I continue to be impressed with our technology driven exploration program design and execution.
Patrick J. Cruickshank, Chief Executive Officer and Director, Nine Mile Metals Ltd.
Gary Lohman, B.Sc., P. Geo., who is the VP Exploration and Director, further added, “The program is being executed as planned, testing a variety of defined geophysical and geological targets. As drilling progressed, new targets and systems have been identified. We look forward to receiving our first assays and following up on those results.”
