Consolidated Lithium Metals Inc. has announced that the Phase I 2024 drilling program has begun at the company’s East Vallée Lithium Project, which is situated in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt about 30 km northwest of Val-d’Or, Quebec.
The East Vallée Project is immediately east and adjacent to the company’s Vallée JV Project (75% CLM and 25% Sayona Mining). It is just 1000 m east and along strike from Sayona’s North American Lithium Mine, North America’s largest active lithium mining facility.
The NAL Mine Pegmatite swarm was successfully traced by the Vallée JV partners from the Sayona NAL Mine Property throughout the whole Vallée JV Property to the western boundary of the company’s East Vallée Project, the company stated on February 14th, 2024.
The Core Pegmatite Dyke, the major dyke in the NAL Mine Swarm, has been traced over 4.2 km of strike length and is available for extension to the east on CLM’s 100%-owned East Vallée Project. According to the company, the Core Pegmatite and surrounding spodumene-bearing dykes will most likely extend into East Vallée.
The East Vallée Project covers 5 km of the highly promising Vallée Lithium Trend, which has never been drill-tested for lithium. Numerous other parallel lithium-bearing dykes have been identified eastward to the East Vallée Property boundary.
The Phase I program will include 12 drill holes totaling about 2,400 m, beginning at the western property boundary, to test the Core Pegmatite and flanking pegmatites along drill fences 400 m apart.
All permits required to begin the program have been obtained, including authorization for extra drill sites. This allows the company to promptly follow up on successful drill holes at tighter hole spacing. Forage Lamontagne Fortier has been contracted to perform drilling services.
Since successfully tracing lithium-bearing pegmatites from the NAL Mine across our Vallée JV Property last November, we have been eagerly awaiting the commencement of this East Vallée drilling program. Pegmatite dykes along the Vallée Trend are known to pinch and swell along their strike length. CLM is excited to continue to trace this swarm east along the Vallée Lithium Trend into untested lithium lands. We are eagerly looking forward to the results of our drilling program this summer.
