Surge Copper Advances Exploration and Development Efforts

Surge Copper Corp. announced the successful completion of its 2024 field program at its 100%-owned Berg and Ootsa copper-molybdenum-precious metals projects in central British Columbia. With field crews now demobilized, the Company is reducing associated expenditures as it shifts focus to the data analysis and reporting phase following the conclusion of physical operations.

2024 Field Program Highlights

  • 13 diamond drill holes totaling 5,054 m were finished:
    • Ten holes totaling 3,707 m were drilled at the Berg Project to explore the Berg SW exploration target. Another 450 m was dug to reach the main Berg deposit.
    • To reach the copper-gold porphyry zone northeast of the Seel deposit that was found in 2022, two holes totaling 897 m were drilled at the Ootsa Project.
  • The definition of resources and the upgrading of inferred resources to higher confidence categories are anticipated to be supported by all 10 holes at the Berg deposit.
  • To support pre-feasibility mining studies, six of the Berg deposit holes received downhole geotechnical testing, which included Packer tests, piezometer installations, and televiewer surveys.
  • During the winter, core samples will also be subjected to geochemical analysis and acid-base accounting test work to support pre-feasibility studies on waste rock management and the ARD/ML environmental baseline.
  • To support earlier database efforts, an environmental baseline data collection program was started throughout the project region.
  • The goal of an ongoing metallurgy program is to reach a pre-feasibility level by early 2025.
  • All drill hole assay findings will be made public as soon as the data have been received, checked, and analyzed.

We are pleased with how efficiently this year’s field program progressed. We achieved all the critical objectives, and thanks to high productivity and favorable weather conditions, we exceeded our original drilling target. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to all the employees and contractors whose hard work and dedication contributed to this successful program. We look forward to providing further updates as we analyze the results in the coming months.

Leif Nilsson, Chief Executive Officer, Surge Copper Corp.
