B2Gold Corp has announced positive results at its Nicaragua mine. At the La Libertad mine the company has found drill results that would enhance the currently projected life span of the mine and increase the gold production at the project. As of now the life of the mine has been pegged at seven years.
The discovery of high grade ore at the Jabali Antenna Zone and the good grade intercepts in the Crimea, Mojon and San Juan veins should see the life of the mine extend beyond seven years. The company is currently producing between 80,000 to 90,000 ounces of gold from the mine annually.
Given the good news the exploration budget of 2010 of $4.6 million is likely to be increased in 2011. The completion report of the inferred resources at the mine will, as per schedule, be ready by April 2011. The company has seen its stocks double in value over the last two years.
La Libertad mine is not the only project on which the B2Gold Corp is presently conducting exploration. The company is also drilling at the Trebol project located in north eastern Nicaragua and in the Cebollati project that it owns in Uruguay.
