Clifton Star Resources and Osisko Mining have announced high grade intersections at their Duparquet project in Quebec. The promising results come from their 2010 drilling program at the project on the Donchester property.
The drilling campaign covered an area of 122,800 meters. A number of new drill holes were part of the program which focused on the three properties of Beattie, Donchester or Central Duparquet and Duquesne. The first phase of the drill program focused on 69,800 meters on the Beattie property with 219 holes.
The second phase explored 20,300 meter of the Dusquesne property with 69 drill holes. The latest results are based on the third phase of drilling in Donchester or Central Duparquet which covered 32,700 meters with a total of 96 holes. About 49 drill holes have shown a good intersection of gold of a high ore grade.
The final results are still pending. Osisko Mining now has the option to acquire a 50% interest in the Duparquet project that is situated in the Abitibi region. To do this they will have to spend $ 70 million in exploration expenses from 2010 to 2013 and also loan money to Clifton Star Resources to fund option payments on the property.
