Caerus Resources Corporation (TSX VENTURE:CA) provided an exploration update on its El Cafatel Gold Mine in Colombia.
The mine is located 12km north of the Marmato disseminated gold-silver district, at Valparaiso Municipality in the Department of Antioquia in Colombia.
The mine has a number of shallow adits and tunnels upto 170 meters in depth which can access the veins within the project area. Caerus Resources Corp has cleared and opened 15 adits and tunnels on the property and obtained samples from each of them.
The zone of interest to the mining company is about 175 meters wide and 1,300 meters long. The stockwork and sheeted veinlet mineralization include sulphide veins hosted by andesite with sericitic argillic alteration halos extending from the veins.
Of the total 25 samples obtained and examined 23 returned gold values greater than 0.1 grams per tonne of Au. This would give a gold value range from about 0.10 grams per tonne gold to 14.7 grams per tonne gold.
