Southern Silver Exploration commences the primary 3,000 meter diamond drill program at Cerro Las Minitas project in Durango State, Mexico. The 10,980 hectare project consists of 425 hectare area subjected to significant mining and much bigger uncharted gravel covered area.
The company completes airborne magnetic survey for the 1,100 line km over the property. The ongoing IP geophysical survey has developed significant number of targets that will be tested in the drill program. The preliminary drilling will concentrate on four key targets and will explore for both high-grade, silver-rich polymetallic substitutes and copper-gold skarn targets spread along the borders of the central intrusion.
Noranda returns several intervals of high-grade silver and base metals, including 123g/t silver, 1.55% lead and 7.79% zinc over 11.45 meter from hole NGV-00-02 and 529g/t silver, 6.99% lead and 1.27% zinc over 1.41 meter from hole NGV-00-06.
Recently, airborne and on-going surface geophysical survey has identified significant uncharted gravel covered targets along some of the 25 km strike-length. The Cerro Las Minitas project is preferably located in Mexico's Faja de Plata, where more than three billion ounces of silver reserves/resources have been produced and developed in multiple world-class mineral deposits.
