Breitling Oil and Gas, a Texas-based autonomous exploration and production company in Irving, has began the drilling in Magnolia #1, the first of the 2 wells at Breitling-Magnolia prospect in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma.
Magnolia #1 is the first well aiming the Wilcox and Simpson Sand. The Hunton Lime at 4175', Earlsboro Sand at 3625', the Misener at 3975' and the Viola at 4125 ' are the secondary objectives. The Wilcox Sand at 4500', the Simpson Sands at 4400' and the Hunton at 4175'are the primary targets of Magnolia #2 and include Earlsboro Sand at 3625' as the secondary objective.
The planned wells are situated in the Simpson and Wilcox Sands and the Hunton Sand at a vertical depth of above 4,500 feet. This shallow oil well is developed with low geological risk.
It is expected that the first well will attain a total depth in around 8 days and will start drilling Magnolia #2 immediately with the same drilling rig. Completion of the wells and analysis on the first well may commence in the last week of March 2011.
The sub-surface area has a fine structural ridge with separated closing for the Hunton, Wilcox and Simpson Sands. There is good well control in the area for these sands.
At present, Breitling has many oil and gas exploration projects all over the United States.
