Cartier Resources has discovered a high grade silver layer by means of drilling at the Xstrata-Option property and near to the corridor of Porcupine-Destor gold.
The company has cut 618.5 g/t silver and 0.31 % copper over 0.5 meter. During the drilling program, a part more than 1.0 meter that is contiguous to the vein could not be recovered. Cartier will confirm the true width of the zone through a future drilling program. It has encountered high-grades at a depth of 12 meters vertically that gives low core recovery.
This discovery has matched with the geophysical anomaly. The location of the silver-rich layer is 300 meters north of the VMS hole intersection drilled in 2010. This hole intercepted 1.29% copper, 17.20 g/t silver, 0.67% zinc over 0.4 meter and 0.51% copper, 7.46 g/t silver, 0.49% zinc over 1.2 meter in DDH XTA-10-01.
The company has identified this new discovery in the first hole of 4000-meter drilling, which is performed at the Xstrata-Option property. Cartier has planned to analyze the new potential geophysical areas in the property’s south section.
The drilling results and this latest discovery have confirmed the presence of precious and base metals mineralization in the Porcupine-Destor area.
