Smash Minerals has begun its 2011 summer field program at Whiskey gold property in the White Gold District, Yukon. It has finished its camp and received a Class 3 Land Use Permit.
This property along with 4,177 claims expands over 60 km for 846 km2 in total and occurs due east of the Kinross Gold claims.
This summer program is planned to further discover primary gold targets for a preliminary drilling phase in August and September. The recent program influences a complete property extensive ridge sampling program to be executed in summer 2010. Smash has conducted brief periods of field inspection and assembled above 7,000 soil samples. This drilling has led to the discovery of three targets with soil alteration, geochemistry, and surface mineralization identical to the 1.5 million ounce Golden Saddle finding completed by Underworld Resources.
The key aspects of 2011 summer program will be the ridge and grid soil mapping, sampling and prospecting, a property wide detailed helicopter carried radiometrics and radiometrics study having line spacing of 100m, prioritized target trenching and core drilling of around 3,000m. Smash plans to test all the grid soil samples at the drilling site utilizing bench top XRF technology before transporting assay samples to Vancouver. This technology is predicted to deliver in real time qualitative information for pioneer elements to accelerate the exploration program at the field camp. The financial plan for the planned drilling will surpass C$4.5 million.
