First Star Resources has reported its 2011 winter drilling program results from its flagship LMS property in Alaska.
This LMS property is under a joint venture with Corvus Gold. The location of the LMS claim block is in Alaska’s Goodpaster Mining District and comprises 92 State of Alaska mining claims that cover 61 km2.
The company drilled to 640 m, totaling two NC core holes in the Camp Zone region of the LMS project during March and April 2011. Owing to technical complexities, the drill hole LM-11-41 had to be closed, as the drilling of hole LM-11-40 was completed. The company has intersected 33.5 g/t silver, 21.4 g/t gold over 5.2 m and 12.6 g/t silver, 5.8 g/t gold over 21.2 m in the drill hole LM-11-40, which has gold-bearing graphitic quartzite breccia.
John Campbell, CEO of the company, has commented that the winter drilling program results are encouraging. The prospective Camp Zone area has confirmed the presence of high-grade gold and silver in the graphitic quartzite breccia. Currently, the company has commenced the 5,000 m summer drilling program at the LMS project.
Pacific Rim Geological Consulting of Alaska will perform all exploration programs on the LMS property. The company will send all samples to ALS Chemex of Alaska for preparation and then to ALS Chemex in Nevada to assay those samples.
