UnionTown Energy has begun the drilling program at the New Miami property. The company is anticipating the completion of drilling in 10-14 days that comprises the turn, horizontal drilling leg and vertical drilling.
The company is vertically drilling the New Miami #42-20H well, which is the primary well, to around 3,000 ft depth that targets the Madison structure and then it will horizontally drill into the structure for about 5,000 ft, which is the length of the total drilling.
Darren Stevenson, CEO and President of the company, has stated that the drilling process in the primary well has started at the New Miami property. There was some delay in moving the drilling rig to the well location due to the recent harsh weather. But, the machinist was able to spud the well.
The location of the New Miami property is in the Northwest Montana’s Sweetgrass Arch region and covers 1,480 acres.
