Papuan Precious Metals (PPM) has received the airborne radiometric and magnetic geophysical survey results from the Mt Suckling project. The initial analysis has found a large north-northeast extended radiogenic potassium anomaly, which is 2500 m long and width up to 750 m, at the western slants of the middle reaches of Dimidi Creek.
This potassium anomaly is confined in a similarly oriented trans-island formation and is referred to as the Dimidi Trend. Gold and platinum is pannable with this potassium anomaly.
Alluvial gold and platinum is completely sourced from this potassium anomaly in the middle reaches of Dimidi Creek through historically comprehensive panning-prospecting, which was completed along the creek at intervals of 500 m in 1990.
The company has planned to continue prospecting at the Dimidi Creek anomaly with mapping and selective traverses and sampling along the branches that course through the potassium anomaly. PPM will additionally perform the ridge and spur soil sampling along the intervening ridges. This work will be conducted simultaneously along with the proposed drilling program for the Urua Creek, which is supported by a helicopter.
The Mt. Suckling project includes a group of prospects identified recently by the company. It encloses two exploration licenses over 316 km2 at the east end of the Central New Guinea Range.
