Breitling Oil and Gas Spuds Turner #2 Well in Texas

Breitling Oil and Gas has announced the spudding of the Breitling-Turner #2 in Hardeman County, Texas.

The company has outlined this prospect by using geophysical and geological methods and the information obtained from the drilling program conducted at the Breitling-Turner #1 well. It has acquired three lines of two-dimensional seismic over the Turner area and is processed again, interpreted and incorporated with the current well control.

The location of the wells is in a 640-acre closure, which was mapped at the Mississippian Chappel dolomite structures and the Holmes Sand over 7,600 ft of the estimated total vertical depth. The Holmes sand is a high-grade reservoir, which is enclosed in the Barnett shale that is rich in hydrocarbon and this reservoir is identical to the Bakken shale in North Dakota.

The Chief Geologist of the company has stated that this is an offset for the success of the proposed Turner #1, which was previously drilled by Breitling.

It is expected that the company will drill the total depth of the well in approximately 33 days. The completion of the well and testing may commence in the second week of August 2011.
