Montero Mining and Exploration has commenced drilling at the Tumbili Target at Wigu Hill. Tumbili Target is situated on the south east central side of the Wigu Hill in Tanzania. It is a rare earth property which covers an area of 142 square kilometers. It is located 170 kilometers to the south west of the capital city of Dar es Salaam.
The drilling program is planning on 3,000 meters split across 12 boreholes. Some mineralization has been found in a 1.2 kilometer strike length. This indicated potential for a larger deposit as per the company. The drilling program will help find the size and extent of rare earth bearing mineralization in the area.
The Chief Executive Officer of Montero Mining and Exploration, Tony Harwood said that the Tumbili target has been identified through consistent mapping and sampling that has delineated a 1,200m by 500m surface zone of bastnaesite bearing carbonatite mineralization.
He added that the exploration at the Tumbili target continues to build on the excellent high grade trench and drill results obtained from the Twiga and Tembo targets on which our maiden NI 43-101 resource estimate is currently in progress.
Montero Mining and Exploration is a junior minor which is involved in the exploration and development of rare earth elements. It has deposits in Tanzania, Canada and South Africa.
