Condor Petroleum Completes Testing of Shoba-3 Appraisal Well

Condor Petroleum has successfully completed the primary flow test of the Shoba-3 appraisal well. The location of the Shoba-3 well is in Kazhakstan on the Zharkamys West 1 contract territory.

An average of 310 barrels per day from the Shoba-3 well was examined during the process of well cleaning. The company has drilled an 11.0 m oil zone interval and returned a 35° API oil gravity that is in line with the oil gravity obtained from the primary flow tests at the Shoba-1 and Shoba-2 wells. So far, Condor has not found water in any of the three Shoba wells.

The fluid and flow data obtained during the primary flow phases will be utilized while planning long term production analysis at all three Shoba wells. The analysis is anticipated to begin for each well in Q3 of 2011. The company will install downhole pumps at Shoba-1 and Shoba-3 for production testing and has planned to additionally improve the primary production flow rates.

The service rig will be relocated to the previously identified Taskuduk W3, when the installation of downhole pumps at Shoba is completed. Condor has used the newly acquired 3D seismic data to discover another 5 m sand package at Taskuduk W3, which will be analyzed.
