Beaufield Resources has started a summer field program at its Schefferville Iron property, Quebec. Funds of around $1,500,000 have been allotted to perform a wide soil sampling, prospecting and drilling program at the property.
The company has performed an airborne FALCON Gravity Gradiometer (AGG) survey during the fall of 2010 and finds 20 high gravity anomalies connected with low magnetic values situated under the Sokoman Iron structure. It has completed a ground gravity survey on chosen airborne targets and exhibits the airborne gravity anomalies’ strength.
Moreover, the AGG survey has defined eight potential SEDEX zinc targets that is situated in the surrounding areas of the Leroy Lake, wherein the bottom lake sediment assays from the survey by the Quebec government has encountered anomalous values of zinc and are analogous to a few of the stream sediments, which paved the way to the identification of Alaska’s giant Red Dog deposit. It is not certain that additional exploration will end in finding the same mineralization.
The location of the Schefferville extensive property is in the central part of the Schefferville iron ore district and contiguous to the Labrador Iron Mines (LIM-T), Century Iron (FER-V), Century Iron (FER-V), Champion Minerals (CHM-T) and Tata Steel Minerals. Many of these neighbours have said that there will be an imminent production of iron ore that will significantly advance the current infrastructure. The Beaufield property is easily reached by many dirt roads, which links it to the Schefferville town and is situated 10 km to the northwest of Schefferville and expands 40 km in a northeastern direction.
