Chinook Energy Reports Drilling Results from Doig Oil Discovery

Chinook Energy has announced the drilling results from the discovery of Doig oil and natural gas at 15-1-86-22W6M in the Red Creek region, northeastern British Columbia and completed the first commercial operation.

The company drilled the well to a depth of 2,880 m in total, which comprised a horizontal section of 1,000 m and a rig released in May, 2011. The company has completed the 10 phase program eight days before in early June. Following the volume recovery driven with the frac, the average rate of production of oil and natural gas for the last three days was 450 barrels per day and 4.2 mmcf per day respectively. The company is expecting that the liquids regained from the natural gas will average around 6 bbls/mmcf and the concentration of H2S in the natural gas to be about 10%. Chinook possess an operated working interest of 74.55% in the well and has 12,800 A gross in the prospect.

The construction of the facility is ongoing and it is expected that the well will begin the production before September, 2011. The company is presently planning the drilling for the remaining of 2011 and for the winter of 2012.
