Gulfmark Resources, a subsidiary of Gulfmark Energy Group, has applied for the drilling permits to the Texas Railroad Commission. The company has planned to drill the primary test well at the Kiefer Lease having 4,261 acres in Zavala County, Texas, after receiving the permit drilling program.
The location of the Kiefer lease is in the northwest part of the oil window, which is in south Texas’ Eagleford Shale trend. The company has designed to vertically drill the Olmos, Escondido, San Miguel, Eagleford Shale, and Austin Chalk structures and will assess the drilling results by means of core samples and open hole logs. The primary goal of the company is to break through the Eagleford Shale formation and has scheduled to drill horizontally to around 3,000 to 4,000 ft, till this productive shale play is reached.
The CEO and President of Gulfmark resources, has commented that the company is happy to commence the development drilling campaign and enhance the value of the shareholders, with the latest discoveries in the Eagleford Shale structure. The company is expecting to extend the horizons and completely make use of the resources, which exist in the leasehold, with the success through the drill bit.
