VMS Ventures Inc. has announced its results from a drilling program on the Super Zone property which is situated 1.8 km north east of the Reed Copper deposit. Both Super Zone and Northwest Zone properties are part of four properties next to the Reed Copper deposit that is under option to HudBay Minerals Inc.
In the drilling exploration four holes were completed of which two holes namely RLE007 and RLE009 were drilled on the Super Zone property and two other holes namely RLE008 and RLE010 were on the Northwest Zone property. The assay results and hole collar information was released by VMS Ventures.
RLE007 on Super Zone intersected two zones of mineralization. The first was at 121.75 to 123.98 meter and the second at 214.20 to 238.90 metres down the hole. The first intersection averaged 5.94% copper and the second averaged 0.21 % copper and 1.18% zinc.
RLE009 the second hole on Super Zone intersected chlorite schist, possibly related to a hydrothermal alteration halo. HudBay Minerals Inc. has the option to earn a 70% joint venture interest in the option properties.
Chief Operating Officer of VMS Ventures, Neil Richardson said that they were pleased with the results to date on this high grade copper discovery. HudBay had now completed four holes and three of them had returned significant results. Drilling would continue to focus on this area where the geophysical anomaly associated with the mineralization had been traced over a 1 kilometre length.
