Habanero Resources has begun the work program at the White Gold prospect, Yukon. The company has contracted Equity Exploration Consultants to conduct the work. The White Gold prospect is immediately located at the boundary of the Golden Saddle discovery of Kinross.
Currently, the 2011 work program is also underway at the Haldane silver prospect. The phase I exploration at the Haldane property included prospecting, soil sampling, mapping, road access to drill location and comprehensive magnetic surveying to find out the high priority drilling targets at the property. It is expected that drilling may start soon at this prospect. Habanero has acquired around 14,000 further acres, totaling 289 claims and considerably enlarged its land site at Yukon’s Keno Hill silver region. This purchase will currently bring the total land for the Haldane prospect to about 21,000 adjacent acres, bordering Bellekeno property of Alexco Resources. The Yukon Government issued a Minfile database stating that the production was over 217 Moz of silver, grading 40.52 oz/t of silver, 3.14% zinc and 5.62% lead in the Keno Hill silver district during the years between 1913 and 1989 and this district is considered to be the second-largest historical producer of silver in Canada.
The President of Habanero has commented that the company is also expecting to commence the drilling operations at the Quebec prospect. This is an active period for the company and is anticipating excellent results during the second half of 2011.
