Minera IRL Begins Drilling Program at Michelle Project

Minera IRL has started a 4,000 m diamond drill campaign at the Michelle Project in Argentina.

The Executive Chairman of the company has stated that this was a very potential drill target the projecting epithermal veins, which is situated along the strike from the Cerro Vanguardia vein field. The exploration group has performed a good job for assessing and prioritizing the primary drilling targets.

Minera IRL has obtained the assay results from the initial surface-sampling program at the Jackpot and Michelle veins. It has taken 51 surface rock samples from the two veins and 33 samples yielded over 1 g/t gold. Among these samples, 16 yielded over 5 g/t gold with 15.7 g/t gold as the highest recorded value. The company tested 11 samples and obtained more than 30 g/t silver and 1,460 g/t silver.

The exploration team of Minera IRL has discovered cumulative vein strike having length of around 22 km at its 143 sq km Michelle project. Several surface veins could be identified from the Cerro Vanguardia gold-silver mine into the Michelle property. The open pit operation at the adjacent Cerro Vanguardia is only 6.5 km from the Michelle vein field. Many gold-silver bearing veins occur at the Minera IRL ground with typical low sulphidation epithermal qualities that show considerable depth potential.

Since early 2011, Minera IRL has performed a multifaceted exploration campaign at Michelle, which includes ground and airborne geophysical techniques with comprehensive geochemical sampling and geological mapping with an aim to help in vectoring the team to the most potential parts of the property.

Michelle property is one of the company’s three active greenfields exploration projects. At present, Minera IRL is advancing in its 2,700 sq km land area. The location of the geological setting in Argentina is rapidly emerging as an outstanding precious metals area, which already has many latest mines and discoveries.
