At the North Star Deposit Excelsior Mining Corp. has announced a resource estimate of oxide copper (Cu) at 3.21 billion pounds (511 million tons at 0.31% Cu) and an additional inferred resource of 0.88 billion pounds Cu (159 million tons at 0.28% Cu) as indicated. The details were in a National Instrument (NI) 43- 101 Technical Report dated August 31, 2011.
National Instrument 43-101 Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects is a rule developed by the Canadian Securities Administrators which established standards for all public disclosure an issuer makes of scientific and technical information concerning mineral projects.
The details were first made public in a July 19, 2011 press release by the company. The company claimed no changes in the resource estimate from that date for the North Star Deposit. The deposit is part of the Gunnison Copper Property located within the copper porphyry belt in southern Arizona.
Excelsior Mining has been conducting exploration work at the Gunnison Copper Property headed by Stephen Twyerould who is a Fellow of AUSIMM, and the President and Chief Executive Officer of Excelsior Mining.
