Pancontinental Uranium (Pancon) and Crossland Uranium Mines (Crossland) have begun a drill campaign, including 100 RAB holes, at the Buchanan Window prospect that is located in the Chilling project, Australia.
The company will drill 12 diamond core holes at the Buchanan prospect during mid-September, after the drilling of these RAB holes. The total drilling program will include core or rotary drilling and RAB drilling of around 2,500 and 2,400 m respectively.
The Buchanan prospect becomes the main target for Rum Jungle style’s mineral deposits. Rum Jungle has encountered base metals from the reorganized and strata-bound deposits like Woodcutters and copper, uranium from the deposits featuring unconformity style. Moreover, Buchanan’s geological site is similar to the uranium province of Alligator Rivers, which houses the eminent Nabarlek, Jabiluka, Ranger and Koongarra uranium deposits. Drilling at Buchanan prospect by Crossland and Pancon has revealed fine geochemical, geophysical and geological returns for these types of target areas.
Thorough geological mapping, stream geochemical sampling and ground-based, comprehensive spectrometer surveys, which was conducted in the former seasons, jointly outlines the drill targets. Through the Bringing Forward Discovery Initiative, the NT Government has awarded a grant of $100,000 to Crossland in order to support the core drill campaign at Buchanan.
The company is anticipating that the drilling campaign will take around a month time. The drill results must be released in the fourth quarter.
In addition, Crossland and Pancon will provide a preliminary Rare Earth Elements (REE) resource calculation of the Charley Creek Project prior to September end.
