NovaGold Resources has informed Marifil Mines that is moving a drill rig to the San Roque project in a few days.
The area of the San Roque project is approximately 70,000 ha. The area encloses a huge base metal and precious epithermal sulphide system, which is situated in Argentina’s Rio Negro Province. This project is located 65 km from a dock at the Atlantic shore in an outstanding infrastructure region. Gold, indium, lead, silver, zinc and traces of molybdenum are present in the complex sulphide system.
In April 2011, NovaGold has completed phase I diamond drill program at the San Roque property. 15 HQ diamond drills have examined three target regions. The DDHMSR-0009 hole and Zone 33 have given the most excellent results, though all the three regions contain geographically large mineralization. The company has intersected 1.00 g/t gold, 32.70 g/t indium, 0.41% lead, 9.5 g/t silver, 9.5 g/t, 1.77% zinc or 2.66 g/t gold equivalent over 150 m in the hole DDHMSR-0009.
Recently, NovaGold has performed a geophysical survey at the Zone 33, which includes dipole-dipole induced polarization (IP) for approximately 15 line-km.
NovaGold will commence phase II diamond core drill program at Zone 33. It has scheduled to drill HQ size core with a length measuring from 3,500 to 5,000 m, totaling around 15-20 drill holes, at the Zone 33 and the geophysics campaign has outlined the contiguous targets.
