Adamus Resources has revealed high-grade gold deposits below the current open pits of its Nzema gold project, through the drilling campaign.
The company has conducted the drill program along the Salman Trend, situated at the Ashanti Gold Belt’s southern part and has considerable deposits of oxide gold at north, central and south Salman, Akango and Teberu. Normally the mineralization defines different shoots, though the Salman trend’s complete 9 km strike is mineralised.
The shoots below the oxide pits of the Teberu 01, 02 and 04 has been focused by the diamond and reverse circulation (RC) program that was performed in the initial half of 2011. The company was planning the drill program to conduct on a grid area of around 50 x 50 m for examining the shoots to a depth of 100 m in the vertical direction. The mineralised zones plunge somewhat to the western side and differ in grade and thickness along the down dip and strike. Mineralized zone with thickness of 40 m in the hole SNRCD1284 encounters around 2.6 g/t gold whereas the 5 m broad mineralized zone in the hole SNRCD1283 produced 17.64 g/t gold.
The drilling program performed during the initial half of 2011 was adequate to classify the shoots in the Inferred Mineral Resource category. Adamus will drill further on a grid area of 50 x 25 m to change the mineral resource to the Indicated and Measured from Inferred. It has intersected 2.31 g/t gold over 9 m at the Teberu 04’s south end and 17.64 g/t over 5 m in the SNRCD1283. There is a potential for the expansion of the mineral resource in the hole SNDD1308.
