Sundance Energy has completed its primary well drilling at S.E. Saskatchewan. It has performed drilling, coring, logging and casing of the Ochapowace 06-05-18-3W2M (6-5 well) well to the subsurface at 895 m total depth.
Bakken, Second White Specks and Torquay are the zones or structures being appraised and the estimated results will be available once finished. The location of the 6-5 well is on the Ochapowace First Nation, which is around 15 mi to Wapella field’s northwest direction in S.E. Saskatchewan. The company operates the 6-5 well and it has a 100% working interest.
The company has employed the Ensign Service rig, which is used for drilling the 6-5 well, to drill two wells for another area operator. Then, the company will restart the drilling program using the rig in early October and it will additionally drill three or four wells at its S.E. Saskatchewan properties.
Sundance has planned to drill Lestock 05-03-27-15W2M, which is situated at the Muskowekwan First Nation. It will drill the 5-3 well on a three dimensional seismically 2,240 A structure, which was outlined seismically, that has blocked characteristics. Bakken, Birdbear, Gravelbourg, Mannville, Second White Specks and Torquay structures will be the focus of the 5-3 well, whose operator will be Sundance. The company will hold a 100% working interest in the 5-3 well.
At present, the company has a 100% working interest in about 70,000 A of land in the First Nation Project Area of S.E. Saskatchewan. Sundance has got approval for two and three dimensional seismic information for around $10 Million at the First Nation Project Area lands.
