Orex Minerals has reported that LeBel Geophysics and Suomen Malmi Oy (SMOY) are engaged with the follow-up ground surveys, as a result of the completion of the aerial geophysical survey for the 2,500 line-km during July 2011 at the Barsele gold project, Sweden.
Most of the fresh anomalous targets are present external to the prominent mineralized zones. The company is conducting ground induced polarization (IP), electromagnetic (EM) and magnetic survey and geological analysis to follow up the gold and VMS targets.
Orex has primarily defined 25 VMS and 12 gold targets. IP survey is being performed by SMOY to identify the mineralization of disseminated style, connected with the Skriasen, Central and Avan zones at Barsele, in which the gold mineralization is connected with dioritic intrusive rocks that are non-magnetic.
LeBel Geophysics has analyzed nine VMS targets by means of a very low frequency (VLF) EM technique. The VLF-EM survey’s initial study recommends the Norra base or precious metal deposit expansion and indicates further VMS targets along with positive geophysical signature regarding VMS-style mineralization. A significant high-grade float boulder has been identified in the property and grades 5% zinc and 30 g/t gold.
The location of Barsele project is some 40 km to the southeast part of Storuman town, Västerbottens Län. The company has reported a NI 43-101 compliant resource calculation for the Barsele project.
Orex is discussing on the final information of the Joint Venture with Fresnillo PLC for the Coneto project, Mexico.
